Now that I've dabbled in sprouting, it's time to jump in feet first!!!

Yesterday we were out and about and ran by a health food store. For six dollars we picked up five different variety of sprouting seeds that will last us at least a month if not longer!!! I had no idea that fenugreek was sooooooooo low cost! At this particular store, it is 12 cents per ounce... WOW!!! We got half a pound of it along with two ounces of broccoli, radish, clover, and alfalfa. I soaked them a bit longer than suggested mostly because I have a sinus infection and slept quite a few extra hours
today. So after 16 hours of soaking, I drained them and now I am seeing signs of sprouting. The broccoli seems to be a bit slower than the other.  I took pictures as you can see going down the left... They are in glass jars so the visuals aren't so great.  Maybe tomorrow I'll take them out for the photos.

WOW! I have LOTS of sprouts.

This is my second home sprouting adventure and I think it turned out great!!! I started with one level cup of lentils and I weighed it at 7 ounces. I then began the sprouting process and four days later I have 1.5 pounds of food! I plan to journal how much yield I actually get from a pre-measured amount of seeds each time I sprout. This way I can develop a better idea of how much to start out with for certain recipes.
I am NOT vegan or a raw foodist, I just believe there is something to be said about the consumption of super foods and learning from those who eat in different ways than myself.
